October 16, 2014

Relativity has moved “Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death” forward a month for a Jan. 2 release — the first film to land on the date.

The studio had originally scheduled the “Woman in Black” sequel for Super Bowl weekend on Jan. 30.

Jeremy Irvine and Helen McCrory star in the sequel directed by Tom Harper and written by Jon Croker.

The sequel takes place 40 years after the original film, when a group of children evacuated from London during World War II come to stay and awaken a house’s darkest inhabitants. It will take place in the same house. Producers are Tobin Armbrust, Simon Oakes, Ben Holden and Richard Jackson.

Here’s the first official still from The Reach, which is set to premiere next month during the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival.

Michael Douglas plays a hunting enthusiast who hires Irvine’s character as a guide to trek through the desert in the two-hander. The two men don’t get along, and things take a turn for the worse when the hunter’s true nature is exposed after killing a prospector. He takes his guide hostage, mercilessly torturing him and “puts him through painful mental and physical tests in the middle of the sweltering desert.” Jean-Baptiste Leonetti directed the thriller from a script by Stephen Susco.

Jeremy is set to star in Mary Shelley’s Monster, focusing on the young woman who’d give the world the iconic novel, Frankenstein, as Mary’s husband. Game of Thrones star, Sophie Turner, has also joined the project, playing the lead role, Mary Shelley.

The film, written by Deborah Baxtrom, “tracks the young writer as she writes her seminal novel and is drawn into a Faustian bargain with her own ‘monster’ of an alter ego, who offers literary fame at a desperate personal cost,” according to Deadline. Turner will act alongside Jeremy Irvine (War Horse) as Mary’s husband, Percy Shelley, and Taissa Farmiga (American Horror Story) as Mary’s stepsister, Claire Clarmont.
